This contract role requires a full-time commitment of 40 hours per week with no overtime, serving students from pre-kindergarten through sixth grade. The work setting includes two elementary schools, focusing on delivering in-person support to promote positive social skills and address behavioral challenges.
Key responsibilities include:
- Providing direct social work services to elementary-aged students (PK-6)
- Developing and implementing intervention plans tailored to children's social and behavioral needs
- Collaborating with educators, families, and community resources to support student well-being and academic success
- Conducting assessments and maintaining accurate case documentation
- Advocating for students' social and emotional needs within the school environment
Desired qualifications:
- Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) credential valid in New Mexico
- Certification by the Public Education Department (PED) of New Mexico
- Experience working with children in educational settings, particularly addressing behaviors and enhancing social skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to engage with students, families, and school staff effectively
- Ability to work on-site at the assigned elementary schools without remote or hybrid options available
